吴山明（1940——2021）浙江省浦江县前吴村人，中国画家、美术教育家，当代中国画坛重要领军者、浙派人物画杰出代表、中国美术学院教授，享受国务院特殊专家津贴，荣获第二届中国美术学院“哲匠奖”金奖。曾任中国美术学院学术委员会委员、教学督导，中国美术学院中国画系主任、中国美术学院造型艺术学部主任，中国美术学院国家二级教授、博士生导师，中国艺术研究院博士生导师。1985年主持编著中国美术学院中国画系教学大纲并延用至今。开創《淡宿墨》审美人物绘画新疆域。主要学术论文：中国画意笔线描简论及出版意笔线描人物。在联合国认定的非物质文化遗产龙泉青瓷上进行开创性绘画探索长达七年时间，取得历史性成功，出版大型画册《水秀山青》。作品为中国美院，吴山明美术馆收藏。浙江大学特聘教授，浙江理工大学特聘教授，浙江师范大学终身荣誉教授，中国美术家协会理事、中国画学会顾问，中国国家画院院委、中国国家画院国画院副院长、研究员，浙江省美术家协会副主席、顾问，杭州市文联名誉主席、杭州市美术家协会主席、名誉主席，浙江省人民政府参事、杭州市人民政府文化顾问，浙江省中国人物画研究会会长、名誉会长，浙江省国际美术交流协会主席，西泠书画院院长、西泠印社理事，民进中央开明画院副院长、浙江开明画院院长，浙江省政协诗书画之友社理事、副理事长，第八届全国人民代表大会代表，浙江省第九届、第十届人民代表大会代表、常委，浙江省政协第五届委员、第六届常委，中国民主促进会中央委员、浙江省委副主任委员。大型山水画作品《巍巍太行》收藏悬挂在北京人民大会堂，大型松柏《麟凤之象》；大型人物画创作《香格里拉》由杭州市政府吴山明美术馆永久收藏。肖像画及创作：遵义之春，大泽聚义，黄宾虹，潘天寿，陈毅，习仲勋，徐悲鸿，林枫眠。弘一法师等分别收藏于中国国家博物馆。中国美术馆，中国国家军事博物馆，中国美术学院，吴山明美术馆，浦江山明美术院。
Wu Shanming (1940-2021), a native of Qianwu Village, Pujiang County, Zhejiang Province, was a Chinese painter and art educator. He was an important leader in the contemporary Chinese painting circle, an outstanding representative of the Zhe School of figure painting, and a professor at the China Academy of Art. He enjoyed the Special expert Allowance of The State Council and won the Gold Award of the second "Zhejiang Award" of the China Academy of Art. He used to be a member of the Academic Committee and teaching supervisor of China Academy of Art, the director of the Chinese Painting Department and the director of the School of Fine Arts of China Academy of Art, a national second-class professor and doctoral supervisor of China Academy of Art, and a doctoral supervisor of the Chinese National Academy of Arts. In 1985, he presided over the compilation of the teaching syllabus for the Chinese Painting Department of China Academy of Art, which has been in use up to now. Create a new territory for the aesthetic figure painting of "Light and Distant Ink". Main academic papers: A Brief Introduction to Chinese Painting's Freehand Line Drawing and Publication of Freehand Line Drawing Figures. For seven years, pioneering painting exploration was carried out on Longquan celadon, an intangible cultural heritage recognized by the United Nations, achieving historic success and publishing a large-scale album titled "Clear Waters and Green Mountains". The large-scale landscape painting "Majestic Taihang" is collected and hung in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and the large-scale pine and cypress painting "The Image of the Phoenix and the Phoenix". The large-scale figure painting "Shangri-La" is permanently collected by the Wu Shanming Art Museum of the Hangzhou Municipal Government.
